In earlier posts, we have configured Array based replication for our DR environment. Now we are going to install VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM) 8.1 in our environment. Follow below steps to install SRM 8.1.
- Download VMware Site Recovery Manager 8.1 from VMware download portal. Click Here.
- Install a Windows Server Operating System with minimum requirement compatibility guide.
- Store VMware SRM setup on this windows server.
- Click on EXE file and Select the Language. Click on OK.
- SRM installation has been executed.
- Click on Next.
- Click on Next.
- Accept the License Agreement. Click on Next.
- The default installation folder for Site Recovery Manager is C:Program FilesVMwareVMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager. Click on Next to choose default or change as per your requirement.
- Enter information about the Platform Services Controller at the site where you are installing Site Recovery Manager and click Next.
- Click on Accept.
- Enter information with which to register the Site Recovery Manager extension with vCenter Server. Click on Next.
- Select vCenter Server and Click Next.
- Select the default Site Recovery Manager plug-in identifier, or create a plug-in identifier for this Site Recovery Manager Server pair, and click Next.
- Choose a Server certificate type for SRM. Click on Next.
- Provide information for your certificate.
- Select database server where you want to store SRM related data. Click on Next.
- Specify the account to run SRM services.
- SRM is not ready to install. Click on Install to proceed.
- Installation is in progress.
- Installation has been finished. Click on Finish to complete and exit the wizard.
- Here you can verify the Site Recovery Manager installed.
- Login to vSphere Web Click and go to Home Page.
- You will see a plugin called Site Recovery installed.
- Click on Open Site Recovery in right panel.
